Large off lead uncontrolled dogs

Reported via desktop in the Dog Related Incident category anonymously at 11:33, Friday 14 March 2025 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7277928.

There are a lot of large dogs off their leads and the owners cant control them. There are 2 alsasians that wear yellow "unfriendly" vests but are off their leads and I have seen go for other smaller dogs and people walking through the park and pull the owner of one of them over as she cannot control it. They let them run round the middle of the park so you have to walk past them and you cant relax taking your own dog for a walk if they are in there. They think its funny when they go for the other dogs and/or get abusive if you say anything. There are a lot of small kids in there - what if it is them next time? The are other large dogs running around off their leads and the owners are not watching them or on their phones etc. Shouldnt all dogs be on leads in public places? They dont pick their dog pooh up and the number of the little junior school kids i have seen covered in it when playing in the park and knelt in it - its disgusting These large dogs are a threat and menacing to members of the public and you should be in control of your dog at all times, i know other dog walkers that have to go Penge Rec as it close to them that dont like going in there when they are in there or have been shouted at/threatened by them just walking round the park.

  • These dogs are still running round the park with the women owners not being able to handle them and thinking it is funny and blaming everyone else for their dogs behaviour rather than admitting they should be on leads. I walked through the park on saturday and saw a lady with a large alsasion off the lead, wearing a Im not dog friendly yellow jacket and she its muzzle in her hand and not on the dog?? Its too late to put it on once the dog has gone for another dog or person?

  • I have again today watched this woman with a large off the lead alsation start arguing with separate people in the park because she cannot control her dog and start shouting at them and try to make it their fault because she has to put her dog on a lead her language is disgusting in front of the kids in the park and she threw sticks and stuff at a man who wad only trying to walk his dog but she seemed to go out of her way to provoke him and put herself dog in their way. This park should be made all dogs on leads as one day someone or something is going to get hurt but more than that her attitude and language is abusive and rude
