Unmarked and unfenced road repairs

Reported via desktop in the Dangerous road surface (including ice, mud, spillage or debris) category anonymously at 09:51, Friday 14 March 2025 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7277051.

The unguarded roadwork excavation shown was left on Monmouth Place last night. Unfortunately while crossing the road I fell into the excavation causing minor injury to myself. We moved the traffic cone as shown to avoid injury to a cyclist or to prevent a motor vehicle dropping into the excavation. Surely your contractor should have fenced this excavation in fully or at the very least place a traffic cone over the danger area as we have done.
