Lowered Kerbs

Reported via desktop in the Pavements/footpaths category anonymously at 15:05, Thu 13 March 2025

Sent to East Lothian Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7273731.

There are no lowered kerbs from McGregor Pend to Nethershot Road on the left as you look at this map. This means that anyone wanting to use either of the 2 bus stops on the right hand side of the road must wheel an unreasonable distance just to get to a bus stop. There are three footpaths running from Glengarry Terrace Glencoe Place, and Grant Road, I suggest installing lowered kerbs at the end of each of these footpaths. It would be helpful to paint road markings alerting drivers that they must not park over the kerbs.

Updates

  • Not fixed. These should have been installed when the road was built according to regulations.

  • Still no lowered kerbs for wheelchair users despite legislation saying lowered kerbs should be placed every 100 meters. It would also help if something was done about the constant pavement parkers on the right. ELC have absolutely ZERO regard for the disabled community.
