Parking

Reported via mobile in the Car parking category anonymously at 10:50, Sunday 9 March 2025

Sent to Hull City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7248445.

I have contacted you in the past re this if cars from the local garage getting parked for weeks on end some without MOT or tax. However over the recent months the parking on Montrose street has gone from bad, to worse, to being down right absurd. Now as a resident I understand I do not own the road and everyone has a right to park legal cars, I do however object to the local garage namely DAC Auto center parking there customer cars and vans on the street and several cars all owned by the garage employees as well, examples a white Mercedes, Jaguar F-pace, Ford transit van and a black Range Rover overfinch, sometimes parking upto 10 plus cars and vans on the street which I feel is them not being a very good neighbour. Imagine how upset they would be if all the residents decided to park in their compound and hinder their business, I'm sure they would feel the same, add to that a random white Land rover and a blue Audi A3 that has been parked for over 3 weeks and not moved once, it's becoming very difficult to park for resident whom live here.

Surly any company should respect the resident parking and use their land and park their customers and staff cars in their premises and if they have outgrown their current site maybe it's time for them to acquire larger premises to fit the needs of their growing business? On occasions the parking on the street is so atrocious it's dangerous to manoeuvre vehicles especially with it not being a through road and the parking is sometimes questionable like parking on the corner. Any help with this would be very much appreciated.
