Dangerous & Deep Pothole

Reported in the Potholes category by Fraser Pithie at 14:38, Mon 30 November 2015

Sent to Solihull Borough Council 2 minutes later

In the N/S wheel line of the carriageway in the direction towards Knowle there is a major pothole some 180mm to 200mm deep! The hole is full of water following rainfall and ongoing erosion is taking place causing the carriageway breakdown to increase. This represents a serious hazard to cars in terms of wheel damage and and even worse safety risk to cyclists and motor cyclists. In the dark it is impossible to see the hole and thus avoid it. Urgent action is required.

  • This is still present and because it is full of water almost invisible at night. I stuck this tonight at about 23.45. It will damage a wheel, tyre and is a major risk to cyclists and motorbikes The coin partly submerged is a £2 coin. This was not at the bottom and it is at least 3 of these deep at the end 3x28mm=84mm. The whole pothole is 1m long.

  • Still there and unmarked. I caught my wheels in it this morning. Not good.
