The 3 highways drains on Hunsterson Road (between Church Lane and Peewit Lane (See map in the photos)

Reported via desktop in the Gully/Drainage category by Cllr Janet Clowes at 19:03, Sun 2 March 2025 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7214084.

All Three Road Drains on this stretch of road are completely blocked. Every time it rains the road in these locations are subject to surface water flooding across the carriageway. It becomes especially deep by ‘drain 3’ near the junction with Church Lane where during recent bad weather, traffic had to turn around in nearby drives and find alternative routes (this is a key route to Bridgemere School further up the Lane). It is only in recent days that the water has subsided enough to examine the drains closely and take photos of their condition.

  • The investigation we have done so far has identified that we need to carry out more work to either better understand or resolve this problem. We have added this location to our drainage improvement programme list. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide you with a timescale of works as they will be prioritised based on risk and available budget. Changes might need to be made if we need to prioritise other works due to emergencies or weather events.

In the meantime, if there is any immediate threat to the property or highways safety requiring an emergency response then we ask that this is telephoned through to the team on 0300 123 5020 between 8:30am – 5:00pm or outside of these hours, contact our out of hours team on 0300 123 5025.
