No street lighting in dark pedestrian/cycle path
Reported in the Street lighting category anonymously at 11:52, Fri 4 September 2009
Sent to Brighton and Hove City Council 3 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 72070.
This path is part of the main pedestrian and cycle route between Falmer and Brighton. The section between the subway to Falmer train station and the entrance to Stanmer park is extremely dark and is not at all safe to use at night (either for bike or walking). You literally can't see more than a few feet in front of you before it is entirely black. I am worried both about accidents (esp. as the path is shared between walkers and cyclists) and about people with more sinister intentions abusing this lack of light to attack people.
Street lighting down this section of the path is both necessary and long overdue.

Since submitting this problem, I have been passed from one council to another, and then to different highway agencies as well. No one is taking responsibility for this issue and it is not being fixed.
