Drains Covered

Reported via desktop in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 12:50, Wednesday 26 February 2025

Sent to West Sussex County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7192527.

The road surface on Freshbrook Road Lancing west Sussex was resurfaced last summer.

The rain drains where covered by the tarmac. The work to raise the drains was supposed to take place in September. We are now into February and the drains have not been raised or uncovered.

This is causing great risk of flooding. All the drains from house number 3 to 25 and beyond are submerged by tarmac and the markings made to identify the drains to raise or uncover them have now worn off of many.

The work has taken so long to complete we are extremely worried about flooding as the whole stretch of road has had the rain drains covered for months. I as a resident will hold the council or highways agency to account for any flooding that ensues. Please investigate and fix this problem as a matter of urgency.
