3 large pot holes (one 65 inches wide) on final corner of adopted highway near the church

Reported via desktop in the Pothole category anonymously at 18:09, Monday 24 February 2025 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7182195.

These pot holes along with many others on the lane from A417 to Eaton Hastings church have been deteriorating for a year. Some white marker paint has been sprayed on some of the potholes along the lane but I don't think the full length of the lane was explored and therefore these three have been missed. It would be inefficient for them not to be picked up when the team is doing the rest so hope these can be included. Thank you.

  • The work on the lane between the A 417 and Eaton Hastings church was supposedly actioned last week. My understanding is that the potholes on the last section (see above) would be picked up at the same time. They were not. In addition because of the lapsed time between spraying the holes to be fixed and the work being undertaken the identification had disappeared. So, a random set of holes have had tarmacked not all those identified. In addition, because a number of cars and vans had suffered problems along the lane a neighbour had put stones in some of the bigger holes. The team has tarmacked over these so they are raised, some have been part tarmacked?? Finally 'left over tarmac' was just put on the verge rather than filling one of the myriad of holes. Perhaps you would advise whether anyone supervises the work teams or inspects the work after 'completion'? Thank you.
