Collapsed wall

Reported via mobile in the Footways and Pavement damage category anonymously at 14:39, Thu 20 February 2025 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7163034.

This collapsed wall - arguably an obstruction worse for pushchairs, mobility scooters & pedestrians than the one now rectified further up the same road - is a dangerous obstruction to the pavement and has already been here for a number of weeks. The one further up took nearly 2 years to rectify. Any update on this one?

Updates

  • Thank you for your enquiry. This issue has been passed onto the relevant team for investigation.

  • The opposite footpath has been coned off with signs warning of the unstable wall on that side of the road (Sudbury House Hotel). That leaves no footpath on this busy section of Stanford Road at it's junction with Ferndale Street and London Street. Pedestrians must use the road, with no proper temporary barriers, signage or lighting.

  • Pics taken today. This blocked pavement creates an extremely hazardous situation at the end of Stanford Road where it is particularly dangerous for pushchairs, mobility scooters and actually ordinary pedestrians to be forced into the road by a complicated junction. Update please
