Long, deep trench at edge of carriageway

Reported via desktop in the Roads and Carriageways category anonymously at 07:30, Wednesday 19 February 2025 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7154791.

There is a 100m long, 15-20cm wide trench at the edge of the carriageway, where reinstatement work has not been adequately completed. There is also a long section along the trench where the Kerb stones have been removed, providing no marked boundary between the carriageway and the footway. The trench is in the shared bus/cycle lane and presents a significant hazard to road users. There is also a significant liability to the council, in the event a vehicle or individual is injured as a result of this area not being inspected and reinstated adequately.
