Dangerous car/van/lorry parking on roads (and pavements) adjacent to the shops. Vehicles are blocking pavements, carriageways and junctions. This situation is getting increasingly dangerous, unfortuantely an accident waiting to happen!
With regard to vehicles parking near the shops, the installation of formal waiting restrictions requires the implementation of a Traffic Regulation Order, this involves a long and expensive legal process including public consultation. I am sure that you are aware of the financial difficulty of both local and national government, this means we have to make some difficult decisions to ensure the greatest benefit for all the residents of Oxfordshire, I regret that there is no funding available for the installation of formal waiting restrictions at this time. It should be noted that if vehicles are parked in a dangerous position they are committing an offence under Section 22 of the Road Traffic Act 1988 and can therefore be reported to Thames Valley Police so that enforcement can take place.
