Smithy Lane - closed section in front of Leighton Hospital

Reported via desktop in the Footway category anonymously at 14:27, Tue 18 February 2025 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7152249.

Cars are using this area to park despite the marked double yellow lines. I walk my dog on the pavement in the new Smithy Labe. Cars are constantly crossing the pavement at both ends to use this parking area. Today a car drive across the pavement narrowly missing my dog. This is not acceptable and clearly dangerous. Can consideration please be given to use bollards or similar to stop cars exiting the old Smithy Lane onto the new roadway. This is an accident waiting to happen if it continues.
