Illegally parked vehicles

Reported via mobile in the Car parking category anonymously at 15:46, Monday 17 February 2025

Sent to Enfield Borough Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7147403.

The owners and clientele of the primitive butcher and two brothers motorcycle repair shop are, as they have been for the past two years, parking on the double yellow lines outside their place of business. It is a nuisance and incredibly antisocial that everyone else in England has to abide by the laws of the land but some people have been encouraged by the council’s inaction to ignore those laws without a care in the world. Here we have a van delivering to the Butcher parked right at the edge of the road on the double yellow lines and the mopeds of the the two brothers motorcycle rental and repair shop as usual on the double yellow lines outside the butchers.

Updates

  • The council have done nothing about it and have washed their hands of any responsibility with regard to parking having surrendered their interests to a private parking company to collect fines on their behalf. A company of course that is not interested in suburban parking but only those areas that bring them the most profit.

  • NSL the company that deals with enforcement only enforce Enfield town centre. Double yellow lines at the end of everyone’s road to ensure access to fire engines are not enforced as it is too much trouble. The profit for NSL is in the car parks for expired tickets or the town centre. The suburbs are not covered even when you ring up or email them. This is what happens when you wash your hands of all responsibility for parking and sell out to a private company.
