Lights Timing causes most of the traffic
Reported via mobile in the Request Timing Review category by Aaron Saull at 13:40, Monday 17 February 2025 using FixMyStreet Pro
Sent to West Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7146524.
The timing of the lights at both the A508/A5095 junction and the Cock Hotel Junction leads to severe queues that gridlocks Kingsthorpe throughout the week.
If you go northbound: The lights at the Cock Hotel aren't green for long enough, then when they do go green the next lights will stop you, merely 100m later.
If you go southbound onto Mill Lane: Heavy traffic in a single file lane at lights that aren't green for long, the queues block the A5095 junction, and people often will use the A5095 junction to dangerously cut infront of the traffic waiting to turn onto Mill Lane.

Investigation: Completed (Highways to Monitor, Routine Inspection Programme) - These lights are monitored daily through CCTV and in-station computers. The whole of Kingsthorpe is saturated with traffic and the lights are also catering for pedestrians. If traffic is not following the legal rules then this will become an enforcement issue and requires reporting to the police.
