Footpath in poor condition

Reported via desktop in the Footways and Pavement damage category anonymously at 18:23, Thursday 13 February 2025

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7131519.

The footpath here is in very poor condition. The surface has failed and there is no drainage resulting in large muddy puddles making the path slippery and dangerous. The width of the footpath is insufficient for a wheelchair or pushchair meaning the only option is to walk in the road which is incredibly dangerous. This has been notified previously but nothing has been done. This is the main route for a number of young children to get to the Europa school and is an accident waiting to happen.

Council ref: ENQ251036529

  • The footpath is not usable after rain due to large, deep puddles. This should have been sorted before allowing the 250 or so new homes to be built in Amey Close, Orwell Park and Heritage Park. Why have developer contributions not been used to fix this?

  • The footpath here is absolutely terrible. Too narrow for any kind of pushchair, filled with ruts and covered in mud and grime. Lighting is incredibly poor too. It’s Just a matter of time until someone has a nasty accident.
