Drains keep blocking and road floods

Reported via desktop in the Blocked Drain / Gully category anonymously at 10:49, Thu 13 February 2025 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7128575.

We have been experiences serious issues with the drains outside our property (Orchard House) for most of the winter when there is significant rain full. The road is literally flooded. We are always clearing leaves out of them (we don't have trees on our property but leaves blow from other trees in the vicinity.

There are a significant number of dead leaves and debris in the drains on both sides of the road outside our house.

We used to have all the drains cleared a couple of times a year, which was much appreciated but they have not been done for sometime.

We need you to schedule for all the drains in the village to be cleared of debris as I do not believe we are the only property with the issue.

When so much flooding is blamed on 'global warming' it is in fact something as simple as neglected and blocked drains causing flooding.

We should be grateful for action at your earliest opportunity.

Thank you

Mrs Susan Portman
