Hackthorn Road northbound side between Welton and Spridlington. Exact What3Words location: captures.skyrocket.dummy

Reported via desktop in the Pothole on pavement/verge category anonymously at 11:21, Monday 10 February 2025 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2833931.

The pothole is approx. 35cm deep and about 2m long where the road edge has totally given way. There are a number of large potholes along Hackthorn Road where the edge of the road has given way, this is just the one that caused me a problem. The beer can from the side of the road that is shown in the photo gives an idea of the size and extent of the missing tarmac. This took my tyre out on Thursday evening and has necessitated a replacement tyre. One photo taken the following day in daylight to give a clearer picture of the fault.

  • State changed to: Investigating

Updated by Lincolnshire County Council at 16:01, Monday 10 February 2025

  • We are sorry but we are not taking immediate action with this report because an officer has investigated and the defects are caused by drivers over running the verge thus creating rutting. Whilst we understand the concerns raised regarding the verges, no action is needed in regard to the safety of highway users. Thank you for reporting this matter.

State changed to: No further action
