Potholes have returned
Reported via desktop in the Pothole category anonymously at 09:00, Monday 10 February 2025
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7110327.
The two potholes that were worked on before Christmas have returned. See report https://www.fixmystreet.com/ report/ 6619364 The patch repair was of poor quality and started deteriorate almost immediately. these are the ones on the RH side of the lane. There is also one parallel with the these on the LH side of the lane and another one about 6 foot closer to the roundabout.
Cant take a photp as there is no pavement here and its the A420 so impossible to stop and get out of the car safely.

The pothole is really big now. Probably 2metres long with a very square edge to it that will cause maximum damage. Can a proper permanent repair be applied this time that lasts longer than 2 months.

I hit this a few days ago, and it made a massive BANG in my car! The whole road is deteriorating and crumbling

Potholes are getting worse, have to serve into oncoming traffic to avoid if in the right hand lane for the traffic island to head to Wantage.

Pothole seems to have been filled about a week ago, but there is already an, admittedly small, one appearing on the edge of the repair. The repair itself is uneven, likely to lead to a premature failure. It looks like maybe the lane was reopened to traffic too soon after filling the hole. Also, while in the vicinity, could you not have also filled the growing pohole at the bottom of the photo and the one about 5 metres towards the roundabout? If left, these are only going to require a return visit in a few weeks time.

The one at the bottom of the photo was repaired at the same time as the larger one. That is what passes for a repair to the occ contractors. That or they just ran out of tarmac. My hope is as this ticket hasn’t been closed, they will return and affect a permanent repair representative of the fact this road is the A420 and the main HGV connector route between the a34 and m4.
