Investigating
Repeated Gully repair failure
Reported via Android in the Footways and Pavement damage category anonymously at 20:12, Thursday 6 February 2025
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7098344.
This is the result after being "repaired" for the 3rd time in 18 months. The Gully grate needs to be seated properly, then the surrounding Asphalt would not break up every 3 months. And maybe 2 x layers of compacted Asphalt instead of 1 at 100mm? I could go into specifications, but I'll save that.
Council ref: ENQ251035175

The tarmac around the drain is severely damaged.sinking down at least 20cm on the roadside. Several cars went down into the hole as I walked past today.

See this is being investigated!!!! This is my third time of reporting. The two repairs carried out are a complete waste of our council tax. Besides a proper repair it needs to address the real problem - BLOCKED DRAIN. If that was unblocked it would stop it flooding and eating away at the tarmac!!!! This gets heavy use continuous buses, lorries and the refuse lorry reversing right over to reverse into wood lane.

This is getting more dangerous by the day!!!!!!!!!!!!!! When it eventually gets repaired why not repair the sunken bit as well. (first photo). This is within feet of the DANGEROUS DRAIN. Besides subsiding whenever a bus, lorry in fact any vehicle going over the noise level for nearby houses is very high and annoying.

Getting worse.. Cracking has now appeared in the re-instatement toward the centre of the road which may mean water has got underneath. If you are not prepared to fixed to a standard, get some temporary Asphalt so more wheels and tyres don't suffer! I remember a time when OCC where on top of repairs like this.....

This was repaired but all the debris has been used to block the drain up. So it will just cause flooding further down the road. The drain needs to he cleared of all the stones and tarmac.
