Please note that this is the last of 3 reports, the first of which seriously damaged my front LHS tyre - and possibly the LHS rear tyre also (tbc) - on 31st January on my way to Chavenage House at 5:35pm in the dark, and the second of which completely flattened my tyre as a result of which I had to limp to Chavenage House and leave my car over the weekend (the road is too narrow to have left the car in situ). On neither occasion was I travelling remotely fast as I was behind another vehicle on the first occasion and, in the latter instance, was approaching the road junction. I will be submitting a further report with a claim for a replacement tyre/tyres, with associated tracking etc. costs when I have them. I photographed the potholes earlier today, although there are so many along this stretch of road that it is extremely dangerous, particularly after dark. Also, having now seen the number of earlier reports, and the general condition of the road, I am very surprised the road has not been repaired before, and as a matter of urgency.

Thank you for reporting a pothole.
First, a safety inspector will visit the location to assess whether a repair needs to be completed and plan the work needed. Works are prioritised based on the urgency of the situation. The council aim to repair all significant potholes (more than 4cm deep and 30cm wide) within 28 days.
In some cases a temporary repair will be needed, to make the area safe, then engineers will return to make a permanent repair.

This pothole report has now been passed to the Safety Inspection Team for assessment.
A safety inspector will make an assessment of the work needed and they will consider a number of factors, including the flow of traffic and the size of the pothole.
If repair work is required, the pothole will either be classed as urgent or will be put into a planned programme of works to ensure it is repaired as efficiently as possible. We aim to complete the repair work within 28 days.
In some cases a temporary repair will be needed, to make the area safe, then engineers will return to make a permanent repair.
An update on the outcome of the safety inspection will be provided.

I am pleased to inform you this pothole has been repaired.
Gloucestershire County Council is responsible for almost 6,000km of roads and each one is routinely inspected (on a monthly, quarterly or annual basis, depending on the type of road). Issues can develop quickly in between these inspections and residents help by reporting problems online.
