Dangerous sign on dangerous A1 junction

Reported via desktop anonymously at 18:28, Friday 31 January 2025

Sent to East Lothian Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7066625.

The illegal sign is, well illegal.

The previous sign blew away as it is made of lightweight board, poorly attached to a wooden frame.

The whole assembly could be carried away like the previous one in a moderately high wind.

It would be very very dangerous in a Yellow or Red alert wind situation.

  • The company based in Edinburgh, which promised garage conversions, had repeatedly put up illegal signs and endangered road users, but evidently had no experience of marketing as the signs were illegible. BEAR Scotland who manages A roads acted swiftly on the second offence.

    State changed to: Fixed
