Outside 157 Middlewich Street

Reported via desktop in the Gully/Drainage category by Graham Threadgold at 18:33, Mon 27 January 2025 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7042266.

This problem as been ongoing since late September . The gulley drain outside my property is partially blocked even after a small amount of rain it floods the footpath and obscures the dropped curbs over 3 properties causing damage to vehicles hitting the curb which is completely covered by standing water it also forces pedestrians to cross over the road or the would have to walk through the standing water or risk getting drenched in filthy water and sewage by passing vehicles which is also continuously hitting my font door and windows. I thought this problem would have been resolved with the annual maintenance check but no and according to your records it was put down as not functional but still left to deteriorate further

This means we will not attend before the scheduled visit unless there is an immediate threat to life or the inside of property. • The investigation we have done so far has identified that we need to carry out more work to either better understand or resolve this problem. We have added this location to our drainage improvement programme list. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide you with a timescale of works as they will be prioritised based on risk and available budget. Changes might need to be made if we need to prioritise other works due to emergencies or weather events.

In the meantime, if there is any immediate threat to the property or highways safety requiring an emergency response then we ask that this is telephoned through to the team on 0300 123 5020 between 8:30am – 5:00pm or outside of these hours, contact our out of hours team on 0300 123 5025.
