Road flooding

Reported via desktop in the Drainage category anonymously at 13:27, Mon 27 January 2025

Sent to Hampshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7039986.

Once more the corner of the intersection between Newnham Lane, Pyotts Hill and The Street in Old Basing is flooded with water more than halfway across the road. This is probably the 4th or 5th time this has happened so far this year and we haven't reached the end of January yet!

At the moment people coming from The Street are driving on the wrong side of the road and others are walking on the road as the path is flooded.

The drains are blocked. This has been happening for most of the 20 years I have lived in the area. In the past the drains have been cleared out but that does not fix the fundamental issue that is either a blockage further down or the drainage capacity isn't sufficient.

Please arrange for an expert to put together a proper plan to address the issue and then execute that plan before there is a serious accident.

I look forward to your response.

Regards, Keith
