Big articulated trucks parking on the junction

Reported via mobile anonymously at 11:36, Sunday 26 January 2025

Sent to Bury Borough Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7034140.

Large articulated lorries consistently park on the double yellow lines at the junction of Roach Bank Road & Little 66 on a regular basis especially early evening (3.30 p.m. onwards) reduces width of the road considerably, leads to congestion & affects drivers visibility on this busy junction leading to nearby roundabout. Parking on the kerb also makes it difficult for pedestrians as sometimes they have to walk on the road due to poor parking - very dangerous for them on this busy road. Evening Traffic also often drive on the wrong side of the road to get to the roundabout quicker. Again dangerous for pedestrians & drivers alike!!! The way the articulated lorries parking has damaged the kerb edging & the footpath.

Updates

  • The big articulated trucks are still parking on Roach Bank Road on the double yellow lines-quite often on the junction of Roach Bank Road & Little 66.

I know that Traffic Wardens have attended and issused PCN for vehicles parked on the double yellow lines on Little 66.

It is the safety issue of the lorries; quite often several of them parked in a long line - impedes visibility and narrows the road considerably.
