Vicrorian soak away has failed and we cannot replace it with a modern one as garden is too short

Reported via mobile in the Property Flooding category anonymously at 22:01, Saturday 25 January 2025 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7032998.

The vidtorian soak away in the front garden of number 56 takes rain water from 52, 54, 56, and 60

It has failed. We had the gutter cleared and still had issues with flooding and water leaking out the hopper. We got a man to clear the drain but he said there was no significant blockage and actually the victorian soakaway has failed.

We cannot replace it with a modern one as the front gardens are less than 5m. He advised contacting highways oxfordshire to get permission to drain directly into the mains drain in the road like our neighbours have done.

The drainage issues is causing bad damp in 56 and damp in 54 ( but this part of the wall had been replastertered but the damp is returning)
