Woodstock Road outside no. 203: Tactile Paving Incorrectly reinstated
Reported via desktop in the Footways and Pavement damage category by Stephen Axtell OCC at 19:12, Friday 24 January 2025 using FixMyStreet Pro
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7029363.
The tactile paving slabs on the CYCLE side of the white line that separates pedestrians from cyclists at this point, has been rotated by 90° to form a “ladder” pattern. This is incorrect and therefore misleading to blind people since it tells them that the cycle side of the white line is meant for pedestrians is potentially more dangerous than the issue reported at the Frenchay Road Junction. As a result, the slabs between the kerb and white segregation line needs rotating to form a "tramline" pattern. This is not an isolated error along this stretch of road, so please be aware of my two other reports either side as there may be a saving to be had if all three sites are rectified together. If you have any queries regarding the correct use of tactile paving at these locations, please e-mail me at my OCC address and I will be happy to arrange for a site meeting if needed.
