Cars blocking access to our gate

Cars are parking here, which means it’s very difficult to get in and out of our private gate due to the angle we have to go in and out at. There appears to be double yellow lines that are faded and no tickets seem to be issued. It’s very stressful and today I am 40 weeks pregnant and can’t get my car out of the car park due to the amount of cars parked, I’m stressed as I may need to go to the hospital but can’t get the car out. Can we get the double yellows out back in?

MOTORISTS are parking
Please report these motorists to the police, they are breaking the law by: 1. Driving on the pavement 2. Causing a dangerous obstruction to pedestrians
Call 101. Option 1. Be sure to get an “incident reference number” so that you can follow this up.

Thanks for the advise. How would we go about getting the yellow lines redrawn or new ones put in? Everyday we have 5-10 cars parked down there as they have worked out they can park for free and as it’s so close to town they leave their cars and go to work. It’s a nightmare for everyone that lives around here. It appears there are yellow lines there, they are just very worn, which is why people are getting away with it and making it very difficult for us. If the lines were redrawn it would make a very big difference as we can’t call the police everyday to get cars removed as it’s a waste of public resource.

Have a look on the council website for requesting double yellow lines. As the double yellow lines already exist, there won’t be any bureaucracy to overcome, just cost and resource.
