Small electricals recycling bin in walters yard

Reported via desktop in the Environmental Services category anonymously at 13:00, Friday 24 January 2025 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Bromley Council 4 days, 1 hour, 57 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 7027075.

Please give brief details of your complaint or compliment below: The Bromley Council website states that there is a small electricals recycling bin at Walters Yard, Bromley. There is not. Very disappointing to take a huge bag of items to be recycled, on the bus, and find that I was unable to recycle them. Not everyone has a highly polluting car. Bromley Council constantly pushes the council tax payers of this borough to use the website. Calling the council is discouraged and it is understandable that we should embrace the marvellous technology available to us. There is absolutely no excuse for not updating the details regarding the recycling facilities at each site. How hard can it be? Surely budgets allow for regular website updates. Please do not tell me to put them out with my general rubbish. Such items are never taken. Also I have no faith in that system. I fully expect that the electrical items would just be thrown in with general rubbish. I am certainly not willing to walk to one of the big sites. That could be dangerous and pedestrians are clearly not welcome. If the council's heart is not in it, stop pretending and give up with the recycling. • What action (if any) would you like us to take? Put the small electricals recycle bin back at Walters Yard. Update the website
