Huge deep pothole on LHS going down the hill

Reported via desktop in the Pothole category anonymously at 10:18, Thursday 23 January 2025

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7020721.

Drove down the hill, couldn’t move onto other side of the road as cars coming up in opposite direction. Immediately blew two tyres on nearside of car. Unfortunately because of the position of it on the hill it is impossible to see it until you’re basically on it.

Council ref: ENQ251032112

  • I work in the local nursery and we have had 4 parents and 1 staff member with flat tyres due to this pot hole! It is very deep but hard to see due to it being full of water.

  • I am one of those parents who had a tyre blow put. Huge inconvenience & cost! I couldn't move out of it's way due to a car in the opposite direction.

  • The section of road for about 250 yards after leaving Cumnor and going down this hill in both directions is in a shockingly bad state and repairs are needed urgently before there is a serious accident here.
