Huge pothole on blind bend
Reported via mobile in the Pothole category anonymously at 19:09, Monday 20 January 2025
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7008157.
This pothole has been reported twice before at Dean Mill and I signed up for updates having seen this. Today I had an email at lunchtime saying the pothole had been fixed. However driving past at 3.30pm it was still there as large as ever with no sign of being dealt with. This is dangerous as you have to drive on the wrong side of the road around a bend or risk your wheel being seriously damaged.

I support the reports of potholes at this bend. I cycled there on Tuesday and can report that it is very hazardous for cyclists. In addition to numerous potholes there is significant surface gravel. Cyclists get pushed out into the middle of the road to avoid the potholes, gravel and standing water. The gravel causes fear of crashing and if this occurred could involve a cyclist falling into the other carriageway into the path of oncoming vehicles. As alluded-to in other reports about the same location, this bend is "blind" and as a cyclist I find it intimidating to stop and photograph. Therefore I can quite understand why others haven't done so. You should probably consider traffic management when risk assessing your inspection of this area.
