Constant litter and the leaving of supermarket trolleys

Reported in the Rubbish (refuse and recycling) category anonymously at 12:42, Wed 19 August 2009

Sent to Test Valley Borough Council 3 minutes later

While the centre of Andover and the Chantry Centre are kept free of litter this road and the piece of grass near The Station Hotel is always the destination for stolen trolleys and discarded bags and fast food containers and drinks cans.

  • Thank you for cleaning up this area. I was pleased to see a council sweeping cart being used there. However, there is another side to Suffolk Road, leading to Bentall Place which is still not clean. Broken glass is in the gutters on the Station Hotel side and on the opposite side, against the wall where there is no pavement, there is always paper, cans etc. At the end of the road where one can turn left to go to Keen House and Asda there is long standing litter lying under the hedge and trees. In fact all around the outskirts of Keen House and behind it , along the river walk, it is very unpleasant. And of course, there are always trolleys. Can you ask the supermarkets to prevent them being stolen in the first place?
