Excessive dog fouling from careless owners

Reported via mobile in the Dog fouling category anonymously at 23:08, Thu 16 January 2025

Sent to Glasgow City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6992052.

The green area on Craigie Street in recent months has grown to be full of dog poo from owners that do not clean up after their dogs. We have a Rottweiler and always make sure to do so as it's disrespectful to other dog owners within the surrounding streets who use it. But we've started to see people who don't pickup after their dog defecates and can see other dogs getting stressed out when walking over the grass to find a spot to go.

Updates

  • I have contacted a representative for Glasgow southside about the issue as it is becoming increasingly obvious that some people in the area do not care nor respect the area be it either dog fouling, fly tipping, littering, car revving and just being generally disrespectful. I have requested cameras in the area as it has become increasingly less safe in the last 10 months and police not council care.

  • In addition to previously raised issue, the communal green has overgrown with thorned/stinging weeds that are between 1-2 feet tall. There is also broken glass around the perimeter an excess rubbish in the centre from local groups of people who also put bin bags next to the large street dumpsters rather than in them. We have seen needles in addition to broken glass. In addition to street fires between the tenement buildings, the roads and communal areas in this post code have become worse.
