We required a grit bin for use on Legh Road. There is a slope and sharp bend in 2 places on the road. When there is snow or ice, cars between 28 and 54 have difficulty driving up the slope at either end of this stretch of road and turning the bend. Recently cars have slid on this section and had to be pushed by neighbours only just avoiding an accident.
We do not a grit bin on the pavement or grass verges as there is a blind resident on the road. The best location is on the corner grass verge where Legh Road meets Butley Lanes - next to the parish noticeboard. Residents are happy to transport the grit from the bin to the site where it is needed on Legh Road (via bags or a wheelbarrow).
