Reported via mobile in the Gully/Drainage category by Julie Mason at 16:31, Wednesday 8 January 2025 using FixMyStreet Pro
Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6952617.
Since the Jones Homes estate was built opposite, the road floods significantly as soon as there is any heavy rain. The matter was reported last year to Cheshire East Council who sent a highways representative to analyse the problem in May 2024. (Ref.NO: 3464207). He proposed a course of action to deal with the problem. It seems, however, that no action was implemented or that it was ineffective as the problem has been worse this winter. The issue has now been reported once again to Cheshire East Council (Ref. No: 3470743) from whom it seems likely that nothing was done last year.
The issue is that the flooding is both across the entire road and is deep and is located on a blind bend. Cars are hitting the flooding at speed from both Dunnocksfold and Close Lane directions, creating the potential for a serious accident. The addition this week of icy conditions has also impacted on this flooding.
It is the residents' view - and mine- that it would be helpful if the Town Council also requested that this issue should be addressed. There was no history of flooding in this area before the estate was built suggesting that the drainage infrastructure is inadequate and need appropriate attention.
