MK Council: Damaged Surface Drain - loose

Reported via desktop in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 13:19, Wednesday 8 January 2025

Sent to Milton Keynes Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6951212.

This is outside 48 Station Road Woburn Sands near MK17 8RU. The surrounding structure has worn and the drain is damaged and loose and makes a loud clunk when a car drives over it. The structural integrity has been compromised due to wear.

Updates

  • Milton Keynes Council have responded to say it doesn't need to be fixed. When a drain cover is loose and the surrounding tarmac has clearly perished so much that it clunks each time a car drives over it -I'd question their ownership of the issue. This site is meant to provide a helpful heads up before something poses a larger risk. Its a shame that an 'ignore it and hope it will go away' mentality prevails.

  • If you tread on the area around the surface drain it bounces up and down - it is not secure or safe.
