Station Road, Didcot - Permit parking

Reported in the Car parking category anonymously at 14:28, Wed 23 September 2015 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to South Oxfordshire District Council 2 minutes later

I've just parked ob Station Road in Didcot to make a business visit to a resident and another resident has vigorously admonished me for parking in a residents only parking zone. There are no notices displayed to indicate this is the case. I also note that residents position wheely bins in the road to deter parking. Is this not an obstruction of the highway?

Updates

  • Station Road is subject to a Traffic Regulation Order that prohibits motor vehicles from using the road unless they have a genuine reason to be there, there is not a residents parking scheme in Didcot. With regards to bins in the highway, this is the offence of obstruction under Section 22 of the Road Traffic Act 1988 and should be reported to Thames Valley Police so that enforcement can take place.
