Extension Building mess
Reported via mobile anonymously at 10:13, Thursday 2 January 2025
Sent to Luton Borough Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6920386.
House having extensions built has been using council owned grassed areas to store new builders supplies, as well as ripped out building items. The grassed areas are no more but a dangerous mud bath and are on a slope. It should all be fenced off so the public do not have access. When they have finally finished are they likely to be reinstating the grass banks to their original state?

It's disgraceful the council have done anything about this! It was reported over a month ago and more recently they have dropped 2 pallets of bricks on the grass verge which is public space. They've ruined the grassed area which is basically a mud pit now along with lots of rubbish from the building works

There has definitely been no improvement in the health and safety of this mud bath of a site.It has only become more dangerous and has been extended further across the previously grassed bank, not only is this causing damage all the damaged building materials are getting buried in the grass. When the clowncil grass cutters mow the grass this will cause damage to the equipment and possible throw out objects to passing vehicles!! Has the clowncil and Health and safety actually visited the site to see how they are operating?Probably not as they do not want to challenge them?. This could have so easily been sorted out by fencing off an area for them to use, builders regularly hiring a skip for all the rubbish. This area is a high traffic area of pedestrians so it needs urgent attention.

It's even worse now. The house in question is having paving done and the builders are now parking their vans on what would've been the grassed area. LBC really need to pull their finger out and deal with this issue. Originally it was reported nearly 4 months ago
