Sequencing leaves cars driving through green man

Reported via Android in the Traffic lights category anonymously at 15:25, Tue 31 December 2024

Sent to Glasgow City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6915955.

The sequencing of the lights don't leave a long enough gap meaning that any car turning right from Mosside Road to Kilmarnock Road on amber will be driving through the green man on the pedestrian crossing. As it's also common for cars to go through on red here it's not unusual to see two cars drive through the green man. There's a very long wait for the pedestrian crossing and it gets extremely overcrowded (at school times the pavement is not passable and the green man has ended before everyone queuing to has started to cross the road) and I'm concerned that someone is going to step out as soon as they see the green man and get hit. Ideally pedestrians should be given more priority here (easily more than half of people give up waiting and skip across during breaks in traffic) but at the very least a longer pause between red for cars on Mosside road and the green man on Kilmarnock road would help.
