Northfield's roundabout, Milton Keynes traffic lights phases {A509,Newport road, Childs way h6}

Reported via mobile in the Traffic lights category anonymously at 21:04, Mon 30 December 2024

Sent to Milton Keynes Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6913029.

I have used the Northfield's roundabout in Milton Keynes numerous times this week and the recent changes made to the traffic lights phasing is bordering on dangerous! It used to flow fairly well but now traffic is stopped whilst traversing and causing mayhem by blocking 'green' phase entry and exit. This urgently needs checking before normal traffic volumes re appear in the new year. The new phasing is causing chaos.

Updates

  • There are multiple reports of these traffic lights being out of their usual sequence since about a month. Surprised there hasn't been more accidents, but this problem will certainly cause them.

  • Worse than ever. Huge queues, frustrated drivers (horns constantly sounding). Whoever had the idea to change the lighting phase at this junction should be held accountable. It's horrendous.

  • This is still causing issues and needs to be fixed to how it was before the winter holidays. Causing massive traffic jams and so many close calls of accidents.

  • Stil terrible. No changes. No feedback. Typical faceless bureaucrats. Waste of time.
