Tree touching the building

Reported via mobile in the Tree Requires Pruning category anonymously at 10:44, Sun 29 December 2024 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6906612.

The tree outside the British Heart Foundation is in urgent need of being pruned as it is now touching the building.

The tree has not been pruned in a very long time.

This will cause a risk to public safety if it damages the building and causes debris to fall to the ground.

The tree is causing a nuisance then sheafing leaves as they are landing on the flat room, then causing damage to the roof if now cleared away.

The tree is very large and could well be causing further damage to the building from underground.

Corrective action is needed.

  • Bromley will only undertake works to a tree for an identified health & safety or highway obstruction issue. Please note that as outlined in our Tree Management Strategy Trees – London Borough of Bromley

Council will not prune or remove trees in relation to the following: • Branches overhanging property boundaries or buildings • Lack of light • Where a tree is thought be too tall, large, or old • Interference with solar panels or satellite, TV, or other media reception • Branches and/or limbs in physical contact with telephone wires or power wires • Leaf fall • Fruit fall • Shedding of small twigs. • This tree is touching the building and this needs to be resolved.

The council need to act as this could damage the building and become a health and safety issue.

When was this last checked? Do we need to involve our local MP to get the council to resolve this?

  • Not sure how this can be as the tree is right at a bus stop, and so no parked cars.

Have you got the right tree?

  • Again, how can this be then the area involved is next to a double bus stop. Are you suggesting that cars are parked in the bus stop?

Have you issued fines to these cars?
