Broken light - hard to see when driving uphill .Metal exposed and hard to see where to turn .caused me to drive over the barrier and wreck underneath my car . Should be cordoned off with tape

Reported via mobile by Karen Williams at 14:45, Sat 28 December 2024

Sent to Liverpool City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6904881.

The refection light showing the barrier is missing . There is ragged metal exposed low down and it has not been taped off . Can’t see it when driving up the hill as low to the floor . Hard to see where to turn . Some fog and darkness makes it impossible to see when driving uphill. I turned onto it and gouged underneath of my car . This is at the junction where you turn into James Street to access James Court and Sainsburys supermarket . Needs urgent attention to warn people as high traffic area. Lots of traffic turns here - dangerous as unlit . I don’t know how long this has been left unattended but it looks like a previous crash has taken the warning light out. This should have been taped off or lit up to prevent people turning onto it as it’s dark and the reflector is missing .

Updates

  • This is the main photo showing the ragged metal left exposed and unlit .

  • This problem remains . It is not only a hazard to drivers but pedestrians crossing from marie zcurie to Ssinsburys . Had a cone put over it during the snow and ice To prevent further accidents . This still has not been fixed and has been like this for over 12 months .
