Pedestrian path is too narrow because of grass "creepage" and overhanging shrubs
Reported via mobile in the Footways and Pavement damage category anonymously at 10:00, Fri 27 December 2024 using FixMyStreet Pro
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6900961.
The pedestrian path from Meerwood Avenue to the bus stop that runs along the A40 westbound carriageway is becoming overgrown by assorted vegetation creeping onto path itself and "hedgerow" that needs pruning back. I cannot walk it without dodging and ducking. To push a wheelchair along the path is problematic. If I use the cyclepath that causes obvious issues. You recently pruned back the hedge from Headington roundabot to the bus stop, please continue your good work eastwards to Meerwood Avenue junction. Thank you

Thank you for your enquiry. Oxfordshire County Council, as the Highway Authority, is ultimately responsible for the maintenance of grass verges alongside the carriageway network throughout Oxfordshire (excluding motorways and trunk roads). Under our new approach, all roadside verges in both rural and urban areas are cut once a year. If necessary, we will trim areas that impede driver visibility more regularly. For more details, you can refer to our Highway Verge and Vegetation Management policy at https://www.oxfordshire.gov.uk/ sites/ default/ files/ file/ roads-and-transport-major-projects/ grasscuttingpolicy.pdf .
Works have been raised to side out the path to full width. i have asked for this to be done as soon as possible.State changed to: Investigation complete
