Embankment of trees facing 136-154 Altrincham Road SK9-5NQ

Reported via mobile in the Hedge/Tree Maintenance category anonymously at 18:30, Sun 22 December 2024 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6891294.

These trees have been allowed to grow with zero maintenance in the last 10 years regarding height and spread, and are now dropping massive branches which are likely to cause significant harm or death to pedestrians walking by below. This has been pointed out several times in the past and CEC has done zero to Maintain the trees as legally required. Today whilst walking with our children we heard a loud thud behind us and a branch approximately 1.5m long, and 10-10cm in diameter snapped in the high winds and fell to the ground. When will east Cheshire do something to maintain these trees that don’t belong to them, they are on private land but adopted by CEC and they won’t allow any residents to maintain or so it either. Do we have to wait till someone else dies like in the Carrs or the alley way to the Carrs on kindles road before the council do something. Absolutely disgraceful state of the embankment that needs urgent attention
