Traffic light sensors don’t recognise bikes

Reported via mobile in the Traffic lights category anonymously at 08:18, Sat 21 December 2024

Sent to Newport Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6887696.

Hi

The traffic light sensors at the traffic lights on Pencarn Way at its junction with the A48 don’t recognise push bikes. This means that people using bikes are required to either wait until a someone in car comes along to trigger the sensor, or proceed through the junction when the light is red, both of which increase the danger for the cyclist.

Please can this be fixed.
