Roadside memorial

Reported via desktop anonymously at 17:12, Fri 20 December 2024 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council and South Oxfordshire District Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6886648.

There has been a large roadside memorial at this location for many months. It is clearly being regularly maintained. It includes lights, photos, flags and a bird feeder. Its presence is clearly a distraction for road users and given there is no pavement nor nearby parking must present a hazard to the person maintaining the site. I realise such memorials are a sensitive issue but as this appears to be an ongoing site near an often busy, sharp corner it should be removed or at least vastly reduced for public safety.

  • Reported a Month ago and clearly no action has been taken. This is public land and shouldn't be used by any individual for their own personal use no matter the reason. It remains a dangerous distraction for road users.
