Drain blocked under road

Reported via mobile in the Blocked Drain / Gully category by Roger Fiander at 15:06, Fri 20 December 2024 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6886163.

The two gullies at the bottom of our drive are not draining away, due to a blockage under Mere Road.

I keep on reporting this problem: I see you have marked my most recent report as 'fixed' and closed it.

I am sure there must be some mistake, as the gullies have obviously not been cleared.

Please, I must ask again, do not close this report until the problem is a tall fixed.

  • This morning the flood is well over the centre of the road, the wheelie bins are standing in several inches of water and it's raining hard so I shan't add yet more photos of the same thing yet again.

  • Flooded again. Both gullies either side of our drive are now totally full, I've raised separate reports, one for each

  • This screenshot, taken from the Fix My Street web site, clearly shows where the drains run which connect the three gullies.

Note, the gully outside Lark Rise has been draining perfectly,

  • It's light rain, but the road is yet again thoroughly flooded over half way across

Posted by Roger Fiander at 11:15, Wed 26 February 2025

  • Well, I'm surprised that the little rain we have just had has proved that clearing the gullies has had no beneficial effect and proved that the problem remains with the drain that runs under Mere Road

  • Flooded yet again. It's been like this for nearly 18 months now
