Illegally parked cars outside of the school, Blue badge holders can’t get parked near the school due to drivers ignoring the parking limitations, GCC need to do more than put cardboard signs up threading fines, fines need to be actually given out for things to change, I haven’t seen one GCC parking warden since the cardboard signs went up, I also doesn’t help that a GCC branded car is being used as a private taxi for private pick up at the school each day, this limits a parking space for Blue badge holders.

Reported via mobile in the Abandoned vehicles category anonymously at 14:45, Tue 17 December 2024

Sent to Glasgow City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6873087.

GCC needs to fix this problem, GCC have enforced parking restrictions outside of a school and don’t seem to enforcing their own rules.

  • Haven’t seen any enforcement officers since the fault was reported, cars are now worse than what they where last year, cars are now parked all across the footway forcing kids onto the road, just before Christmas there was a total lock up due to abandoned cars.

There is going to be an accident if this isn’t addressed, I’m actually surprised that one hasn’t happened already.

What makes it even worse is that a Glasgow City Council branded car is even ignoring their own rules when being used as a taxi for a parent to pick up their child everyday, if GCC aren’t adhering to their own rules, what chance has anyone else got?

  • GCC obviously don’t consider children safety as serious matter.

  • There was a child knocked down recently, I can only put this down to GCC failing to enforce their own rules and restrictions.

  • Cars parked for school pick up and drop off are worse than ever, there was a child knocked down 2 months ago at school pick up time, there are cars parked the full length of the pavement outside the school as well as on the no parking chevrons right next to the big no parking signs on the fence, glad to see GCC haven’t acted on my years worth of emails and has resulted in me saying “told you so” in regards to an accident happening, All GCC have done is come out and put cardboard signs up saying “pass the sign, pay the fine” but haven’t actually enforced this whatsoever, the school have actually had to resort in putting their own cones outside of the gates to try and stop parking.
