The public road alongside the Walstead Bicester factory has developed large potholes and damage to both the road and kerbside which has got a lot worse in the last 12 months. This is a busy road with frequent heavy lorries and is also a fork lift route. The road is sinking where previous repairs took place and this is creating a major hazard, particularly during wet weather where the water stays for a number of days and hides the potholes. There has previously been an incident where a fork-lift lost it's load when a wheel fell into a hole. There is a serious risk of a truck tipping which could cause a serious injury to the driver.
This is now the fourth time we have reported this issue. The road is continuing to deteriorate and is increasing the risk of a serious accident. As previous highlighted, if a forklift either topples it's load or tips over, it is likely to result in a major H&S incident.
I note your previous response of 18th November which closed the investigation stating that Oxfordshire County County is not responsible for this problem as this section of the road is not part of the highway. However this is incorrect as we have carried out a Road Search which shows the road has been adopted by yourselves. Memery Crystal, our solicitors are now writing again to yourselves regarding the need for repairs to take place
