Build up of mud
Reported in the Street cleaning category anonymously at 19:15, Tue 8 September 2015
Sent to East Sussex County Council and Hastings Borough Council 5 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 686865.
The pedestrian crossing from one side of Church Wood Drive to Bodiam Drive ALWAYS collects levels & debris making the crossing more puddle than crossing! This makes it very hard to use safely esp when there is more than one person ie school times! This has always happen in the 3 plus years of taking my son to school (Robsack Wood). I've known it to be clear once!!!

Im sorry but this isn't good enough I have driven past twice today and can see the weeds & mud/silt build up over the the bumpy paving slabs from the car! When I walk to school I have to walk around the bollard closet to One Stop so my children can avoid the puddle/mud/silt & cross safely. I have met with a street warden about 2yrs ago who saw the issue & agreed & got it cleared ASAP!!!

Thank you for supplying the additional information and photograph. While we are sorry to hear of the problems you are experiencing, we are unable to carry out any works as the area Steward does not deem the build up of debris to be a safety concern at this location.
Hastings Borough Council is responsible for keeping the highway clear under their street cleaning scheme. I have therefore reported this matter to them. Should you wish to contact them in the future, they can be contacted directly on 01424 451066 or hbc@hastings.gov.uk.
State changed to: not the council's responsibility

So forcing parents and children to not use crossing as mainly a puddle during really wet periods is not a safety issue this is unacceptable. I will be contacting my local councillor. This road is a very busy road & will be getting busier once the new bypass & houses are completed!!
